All NEW Toyota RAV4
Toyota has officially revealed the all-new, sixth-generation RAV4 for the 2026 model year, marking a significant redesign for one of America’s best-selling vehicles. The big news is that the 2026 RAV4 is going hybrid-only, with all models featuring some form of electrified powertrain.
Here’s a summary of the key highlights for the all-new 2026 Toyota RAV4:
Powertrains:
• Hybrid Standard: All 2026 RAV4 models will be hybridized.
• Two Hybrid Options:
• Standard Hybrid: Combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. It offers 226 horsepower with front-wheel drive (FWD) and 236 horsepower with all-wheel drive (AWD).
• Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV): Previously known as RAV4 Prime, this version now boasts a significant power increase to 320 horsepower (up from 302 hp) and offers up to 50 miles of EV-only range.
• Increased Towing Capacity: Most AWD hybrid and PHEV models now have a towing capacity of 3500 pounds.
Design and Exterior:
• All-New Look: The 2026 RAV4 features a complete redesign inside and out, taking design cues from models like the latest Camry and Grand Highlander.
• Distinct Styles: Toyota is offering the RAV4 in different “styles” across seven grades (trims):
• Core: Includes LE, XLE, and Limited trims with a body-color grille and black fender flares.
• Rugged: Features the Woodland trim, which gets a higher ride height, a distinctive split grille, and all-terrain tires.
• Sport: Includes SE, XSE, and the new GR Sport trim.
• New GR Sport Model: This is a performance-oriented variant that comes standard with the plug-in hybrid setup, features 20-inch black wheels wrapped in summer tires, a slightly longer length, and a sportier suspension setup with performance dampers.
• Dimensions: While the wheelbase remains the same at 105.9 inches, the overall length for most trims is unchanged at 180.9 inches. The Woodland and GR Sport models are slightly longer at 181.8 inches due to bumper design differences.
Interior and Technology:
• Enhanced Cabin Experience: The interior is designed for improved refinement and comfort.
• Standard Digital Gauge Display: A 12.3-inch digital gauge display now comes standard on all RAV4 models (previously reserved for upper trims).
• Multimedia System: An 8-inch or available 10.5-inch multimedia display is offered, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
• New Toyota T-Mate Safety Suite: The 2026 RAV4 incorporates the next generation of Toyota’s active safety suite, with updates to its hardware and detection capabilities. This includes standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
• Advanced Features: Available features include a panoramic glass roof, JBL premium audio system, satellite navigation, and a wireless charging pad.
• Arene Software Platform: The new RAV4 will utilize Toyota’s advanced Arene software development platform, enabling personalized services through subscription options like faster remote services, Smart Digital Key+, and an improved voice agent.
